I’m a registered social worker and psychotherapist with a Master's degree in Social Work who is dedicated to helping individuals reach their goals in a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental setting. With over a decade of experience in human services, I understand the challenges of seeking help when we're feeling overwhelmed or not at our best. Taking that first step towards making things easier requires courage, and I commend you for being here.
Besides my private practice, I have a diverse professional background that encompasses various fields, including law enforcement, military service, program development, psychoeducation, agency reform, policy, and social work within educational systems. I have worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds, including underrepresented populations, public service professionals, students, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Through my work, I have assisted a wide range of clients in bringing about positive change in their personal lives, in their relationships with others, and within the larger systems they find themselves a part of.
As someone who has lived experience with challenges such as ADHD, trauma, family violence, and occupational stress injury, I have a profound understanding of mental health support that respects clients' experiences and perspectives. I am passionate about working with clients challenged in these areas and my personal background allows me to better connect with clients who have walked similar paths. I recognize the challenges of sharing stories with someone who may not have seen the same things or experienced the same trauma, and I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to express themselves, share their stories, and achieve their goals.
I believe that every individual has the ability to overcome adversity, become resilient, and thrive, and my goal is to help you achieve your goals in a way that feels authentic and meaningful to you. I practice a strengths-based and eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring my treatment to your unique needs by incorporating various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioural approaches, mindfulness, and work with acceptance and commitment. My clients' safety and well-being are of utmost importance to me, and I prioritize creating a supportive environment that respects their autonomy and allows them to set the pace and direction of their therapy.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring nature, and being with friends and loved ones. I also understand the significance of self-care and regularly incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion practices into my own life and work with clients.
I recognize that seeking help can be overwhelming and daunting, but please know that you are not alone. If you're searching for someone to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth, I would be honoured to support you every step of the way.
